Roblox Fling Things and People is a Roblox physics based sandbox game with chaotic and comedic mechanics. In this game, players can grab, throw, and fling both objects and other players across the map. This game is developed by Horomori and was released on 16 June 2021. It has been recently updated with new maps, physics tweaks, and added some events also. The total number of visits is over 2.2 billion+, and more than 685,000+ players have added it to their favorites list. Server size is 20, and the Genre is simulation and subgenre is Physics sim.

The main goal of the game is to grab and fling objects or players using realistic physics, explore all the maps, and do experiment with various items. Players can also earn coins through slot machines located across the map. Using these coins, you can buy new toys, props, and tools from the game shop to enhance their flinging experience or decorate their private plots. The game also gives daily rewards and allows players to team up or compete with others for fun chaos. It includes game passes that grant extra abilities such as extended grab range or faster escapes.

There is also a “friend interaction” system, allowing players to collaborate or prank each other more easily, and a build system within private plots for creative play. As of now, there are no active codes (promo codes) for Fling Things and People, because the game does not have a code redemption system currently implemented. [1]

Core Gameplay and Mechanics

[edit | edit source]

Objective & Freedom

[edit | edit source]

Fling Things and People is a sandbox or experimental physics experience than a structured “win the game” mission. The fun lies in interacting, flinging objects and players, experimenting, and exploring the maps and world.

In this game, you can:

  • Grab objects and toss them
  • Grab other players (or have them grab you) and fling
  • Build in private plots (cooperative or solo)
  • Explore structures and the map
  • Use toys / props obtained via the in-game store
  • Deal with environmental hazards (e.g. poisonous liquid)

Controls & Throwing Mechanics

[edit | edit source]

There are some control features or buttons of "the Fling Things and People" game.

Action Control / Mechanic
Grab / Drop Left Mouse Button
Throw Right Mouse Button
Adjust / Aim Trajectory Mouse movement / visual assist line
Fling Range Adjustment Mouse wheel up/down
Rotate Mode / Rotate Object Press R to enable rotation, then mouse to rotate
Crouch Left Shift

Objects vary in their physical behavior: some bounce, glide, or fall differently depending on mass, shape, and drag.

Map, Structures and Private Plots

[edit | edit source]
  • The world has public structures you can visit: e.g. a barn, a cabin, a “factory-like” house.
  • There are private plots (5 in number) that players can claim and build in privately or jointly with others.
  • A train system connects the 3 public structures.
  • Under the factory, there are pits containing a purple poisonous liquid. If a player is submerged (i.e. not standing on a safe object), they die in ~5 seconds.
  • The map also has auto-updates / themed changes depending on date/time of year (e.g. foggy version, dark / space skybox, holiday themes) .

These map dynamics and environmental hazards add some stakes to what otherwise is a low-goal sandbox.

Economy, Toys & Store

Coins & Earning

[edit | edit source]
  • The primary in-game currency is Coins.
  • These are earned by using coin slot machines placed in the world. You can pull the lever every 15 minutes. (Roblox Wiki)
  • The payouts are randomized. Originally, before a major update, the probabilities / values were:

    5% → 50 coins 25% → 75 coins 30% → 100 coins 25% → 125 coins 15% → 150 coins (These were for older version)

Post-Anniversary update (2022), these amounts changed to:

    5% → 150 coins 25% → 175 coins 30% → 200 coins 25% → 225 coins 15% → 250 coins

  • Because of the cooldown, coin income is slow, encouraging players to return over time.

Shop / Toy Items

[edit | edit source]
  • The “Toys” menu / Toy Shop allows players to buy various props and objects to spawn in the world and fling.
  • Some toys / props are scattered in the map, but many must be purchased via Coins.
  • Shop items are categorized (there are 5 categories, plus “All”) (Roblox Fling Things And People Wiki) The categories might include things like furniture, vehicles, animals, weapons, etc. (depending on what is allowed).
  • Once purchased, these toys appear in your “Your Toys” section and can be spawned / used.

Gamepasses & Premium Options

[edit | edit source]
  • FTAP includes optional Gamepasses / Premium Features to enhance the experience.
  • Examples of benefits from gamepasses include:
    • Increasing your reach (i.e. fling objects/players from farther away)
    • Escape or resistance mechanics (letting you break free more easily)
    • Cosmetic or utility enhancements (e.g. color of the fling line) Because these can give mechanical advantages (especially reach or escape), they are sometimes controversial among players.
  • Additionally, players can purchase coin packs (e.g. 250, 500, 1000, 2000, 5000 coins) to accelerate access to toys.[1]

Community, Issues & Feedback

[edit | edit source]

FTAP is both loved for its chaotic fun and criticized for various problems. Here’s a breakdown:

Positive Aspects / What Players Enjoy

[edit | edit source]
  • The freedom: Because almost everything is flinging, experimenting, and chaos, many players enjoy the open sandbox nature.
  • Social / multiplayer fun: Interacting, teaming, or messing with others by flinging them is part of the draw.
  • Continuous updates, map variations, seasonal themes help keep things fresh.[2]

Criticisms, Bugs & Community Complaints

[edit | edit source]

Toxicity & Pay-to-Win (P2W)

[edit | edit source]
  • Many players claim the game is “toxic” — frequent griefing, aggressive flinging, teaming, and abusive behavior.[3]
  • Some complain that game passes (especially reach / escape) give unfair advantages to paying players over free players.
  • Because of these advantages, some players feel powerless to retaliate, especially without investing in passes.

Bugs / Inaccessibility

[edit | edit source]
  • Several reports exist of the “grab / fling dot in center” disappearing, leaving players unable to interact (only walking).
  • Some suspect that the issue arises in the Microsoft Store version of Roblox vs the web/desktop version.
  • Exploiters are occasionally blamed by players: teleporting people, messing with physics, etc., which harms fairness.
  • Some mention being “kicked for suspected exploiting” even when they weren’t cheating, possibly due to physics anomalies.

These issues seem to be recurring in player discussions.[3]

Development Insights

[edit | edit source]

While internal code isn’t public, here are some developer observations and known community discussion:

  • On the DevForum, a user asked how they implemented picking up & rotating objects, floating islands (that can flip), etc.
  • Physics in Roblox is used heavily: manipulatable constraints, joints, collision, mass, drag, etc., are likely in use behind the scenes to simulate realistic / semi-realistic object behavior.
  • To allow dynamic maps and auto-updates (e.g. seasonal visual changes), the game uses scheduled server events or a global state that triggers map appearance changes (fog, skybox, color shifts).
  • The game must manage object ownership, replication, and interaction safely, especially in multiplayer, to minimize glitches[4]
