The Halloween Spotlight is Roblox’s official Halloween-themed event for 2025.[1] It’s somewhat a successor or spiritual continuation of past Halloween events like The Haunt, but with a different structure: instead of one continuous narrative experience, this event highlights multiple individual games/experiences under a central hub.[2] Through the hub, players can enter participating games via portals (or links) and complete tasks in each to earn rewards. Each participating game (or experience) is expected to offer 2 badges (an “easy” badge and an “elite” badge) as part of the event rewards. [2]

Rewards & Badges

[edit]
  • Badges: Each participating game gives out 2 badges — one “easy” badge, and one “elite” badge. X (formerly Twitter)+1
  • UGC / Avatar Items: The event is expected to offer free and exclusive avatar items (hats, hoods, etc.) as part of the reward system.
  • Some items might be paid, but many are anticipated to be free through event completion.

Mechanics & Structure

[edit]
  • The event has a central hub, where players land first. From the hub, they access individual experiences / games via portals.
  • In each game, completing event-specific tasks or challenges will unlock the badges / associated rewards.
  • Because this format is more modular than a single narrative hub event, players can pick and choose which experiences to tackle (especially helpful for smaller communities or less active games).
  • The two-badge system (easy + elite) gives both casual and hardcore players incentive to engage.[3]

Comparisons / Context with Past Events

[edit]
  • The Haunt (2024) was more of a unified event with a mansion hub, costume contest, etc.
  • The Halloween Spotlight seems more distributed — many smaller experiences rather than one big storyline.
  • Past Roblox Halloween events (like “Halloween on Roblox” 2021) involved community avatar items, game features, etc.[4]
